This cup looked remarkably like a floating bubble from a distance.

Cup Holder

A very convenient cup holder is formed by the wall and the seat. There was no need to use it in this case because the cup was empty. They could have just thrown it on the floor.

Crushed

How horrible! You're no longer needed and so you get crushed and pushed into the crack of a seat.

Terrible News in China

There must have been some terrible event in China, reported in the newspaper. It caused them to throw down the paper and rush out of the train.

There was no sign of the bottle.
